Continuity Exercise Evaluation

For this exercise we had to make a short film with no dialogue. It was based around a package being handed over. We had to come up with an idea based around that. We decided that the best idea was for the package to contain diamonds and for it to be a secret drug deal kind of scenario. After doing this, our class and us had to analyse it and see if we kept the continuity. If there were any continuity errors they were pointed out.

The black and white effect worked really well with the idea of the film. It adds to the dramatic effect of the film. It is typical of the genre we were trying to create which would be a Crime film. Through making it black and white we added more drama to it as well as hiding unwanted blemishes.

We added some typical 80's crime style music. It went really well with the film and added more drama to it again. The track was a non-copyrighted piece of music found on the college computers. Considering we were limited to non-copyrighted I think the piece went really well and really added to the drama of the video.

One of the continuity errors in the video was the fact that Chris changes his clothing half way through the video.
In this photo, he is wearing a t-shirt, and in the one under, he is wearing a button up shirt. This is one of the biggest continuity errors in our video. The reasoning behind this is because they were shot on different days, therefore Chris was wearing different clothes.

Another continuity error would be where Ben disappears from his seat and then re-appears when Chris hands the money over.

In this picture, Ben is quite obviously sat across from Chris as Chris takes the briefcase from Ben.

And in this picture, Ben has disappeared and the chair has been moved.

And then in this picture, Ben is back in his seat as Chris hands the money over to him. This is our biggest continuity error in the whole video.
